Art Competition Winners Decided
Over the last few weeks we’ve been running a WW1 Art Competition for 5-11 year olds, asking entrants to produce masterpieces themed around the Christmas truce football game of 1914…and now the winning pieces have been decided…
We had so many absolutely brilliant entries, using a variety of mediums from watercolours to collage, making it very hard to judge.
Our winners were children from two local schools.
The judges thought that the use of newspaper in this first piece’s collage to create the appearance of a soldier in camouflage, was very clever and they loved the use of watercolour in this second artwork as it created atmosphere and a sense of drama.
The two winning pieces will be displayed at Leamington Art Gallery soon.
