Volunteer with Confidence, Awards Ceremony

Brunswick Hub was delighted to receive a grant from Awards for All, Big Lottery Fund at the start of 2017 The funds was specifically used to run an Inclusive Volunteer Programme.

This training programme was offered to all our Volunteers: they are our most important and valued asset here at Brunswick and we could not accomplish what we do every day without them as they make the difference!

The Volunteer with Confidence training programme was designed to give our volunteers additional information, support and knowledge on key aspects of their role: respect and trust, confidentiality, safe-guarding and boundaries, and, dementia awareness training in a relaxed and informal way.

Volunteer with Confidence was made up of 3 sessions, which ran over the course of this year at Brunswick. It is a training programme that we also deliver as outreach.

Here is some of the feedback from volunteers who participated in the training:

Knowing that this training and learning will help me in the future, as my volunteering progresses.

Learned more about myself and how important boundaries are and why we need to have them.

Pleased with myself, my confidence in my volunteering role has improved!

Thinking about myself as a ‘volunteer’ in more depth and relating it to me as a person.

My confidence rating has gone from 60% at the start to 95% now I’ve completed the training.

Friendly atmosphere and everyone’s opinion is valued.

All those who took part in the Volunteer with Confidence training programme were invited to a special celebration event held in November to recognise their achievement where the Mayor of Leamington Spa, Cllr Caroline Evetts, presented each volunteer with a well deserved Certificate.

It was our very own Pride of Brunswick Awards!
